Author, Jennifer Kane, met seminarian Ryszard Biernat in 2006 while he served at the Basilica of St. Mary of the Angels in Olean, NY. He confided to her at the time that he had been sexually molested by a diocesan priest two years earlier, and the diocese still had not done anything about his abuser and did not report the allegation to authorities. Worse, he said a diocesan bishop threatened him against reporting his allegation to anyone. That bothered her, as it would you.
